My Last Video... Before Everything Changes

Hey, Johannes from GearUpYourLife here… 👋

First of all, I want to say sorry for the last nine days of silence here.
This short pause mainly happened because of the transition the channel is going through right now… and honestly, I imagined a lot of things being much easier than they actually were.
So thank you for the patience… and also for the incredible support.
The last videos reached a 99% like-to-dislike ratio, which is honestly unbelievable and means a lot to me.

But today I finally want to talk about something I already hinted at on Thursday, not just about my travels this year, but about the most important thing on this channel: the videos themselves.

Because today, officially, the last GearUpYourLife video went live without me being in it.

From Thursday or Friday on, the first real, personal video will be uploaded… filmed by me, with me in it.
And I truly believe this will lead us to a completely new, and honestly better, kind of content.
More personal experiences. More real stories. More honesty.

And I don’t think this is just an important step-I think it’s the only right one.

Traveling, and YouTube especially, should be about real people with real experiences.
Anyone can read specs off a product sheet and upload a video.
But that was never what this channel was supposed to be about.

On top of that, many of you might have noticed that we’ve hit some huge milestones recently:

  • Over 15,000 subscribers on the main channel (almost 17K already)

  • 1,500 subscribers on the review channel

  • And even 2,000 newsletter subscribers, which honestly turns this into a pretty big newsletter now

Because of that  and with the support of several brands, I’ve decided to start another giveaway at the end of this month.
(Just a teaser for now, it will be launched later this month.)
It will run across all three platforms, and as always, the newsletter will get the biggest and best prizes.

And now, one last time like always:
My “last” YouTube video in this phase just went live.

My best EDC products under $50... items I always have at home, but usually don’t take traveling, for different reasons.

And with that, I’ll see you again in two days, probably sitting on a train to Ghent, Belgium, writing a “What I Pack for 3 Days” edition and sharing more about my upcoming travel plans.
