This Week Changed How I’ll Run GearUpYourLife Forever.

Your messages were loud and clear, here’s what I learned, what’s launching next, and why a new channel is going live tomorrow.

Hey, Johannes from GearUpYourLife here…

and quick disclaimer right away: no gear today.
I’ll save all of that for Sunday.

Today’s email is all about your feedback from last week.
I finally went through every single message, and honestly — I’m incredibly happy.
Not just about the feedback itself, but also the random conversations that came from it.
Somehow a few of them ended up turning into deep talks about fast food chains in Europe… but hey, I’m not complaining. 😅

So today, I wanted to take a moment to share what I heard from you — and what I’ll be changing or improving starting this week!

What You Told Me / What I Learned from Your Feedback

1️⃣ More In-Depth Reviews (but keep the short formats!)
The number one thing everyone asked for were deeper reviews about single products — but without losing the short, snappy formats like Real Essentials or Premium Upgrades.
So here’s the plan: there’s a brand-new Review Channel coming — fully dedicated to long-form product breakdowns.
The first video drops tomorrow (or latest the day after), where I’ll spend 5–8 minutes talking honestly about one gadget, filmed completely by myself here in Greece.
For now, it’ll be one video per week, and from next month on, twice a week.

2️⃣ More EDC Content
Yep, I heard you — loud and clear.
From now on, there’ll be at least one EDC video every month, plus an extra EDC post in the newsletter.
That means this Sunday’s Winter EDC Special straight from Athens officially kicks it off.

3️⃣ More Personal Updates / Vlog-Style Content
This one was interesting because a lot of you asked for more behind-the-scenes, travel updates, and everyday moments.
So here’s the deal: there won’t be a separate vlog channel, but starting this week, I’ll be posting at least one Instagram Story every day — just small moments from travel, filming, or life in general.
And maybe… if you like the idea, I could start a private, more personal newsletter — where I just write two or three times a week about what I’m learning or doing on the road, with no gadgets or links, just real talk.
(So please let me know what you think about that idea, I’d love your feedback again 😄)

4️⃣ More Niche Topics
Many of you mentioned you’d love to see more niche-focused content — things like “Top 5 Foldable Gadgets” or “Best Travel Shoes.”
That’s a big yes from me.
Expect to see that kind of content here in the newsletter before the end of this year — and starting January, also on YouTube.

5️⃣ Short-Form Content (Instagram + YouTube)
Some of you asked about short-form videos or Reels — and yes, that’s something I’m currently discussing with Christine.
If we can fit it into our editing schedule without burning out, then absolutely.
I’ll keep you posted on that one.

BONUS:
I got over 100 emails this week , which absolutely blew me away.
Almost 40 of them were basically the same message: “Please don’t stop making sling bag videos.”
And don’t worry, that was never serious, just a joke I made because of one funny comment.
So yes, sling bags are here to stay. 😄

So, as you’ve probably noticed, the Review Channel officially starts tomorrow!
And as many of you might know, one of the first big milestones for any YouTuber is reaching 1,000 subscribers.

Since about 98.7% of you here found me through YouTube anyway, I’d honestly love it if you subscribed over there too.
It’s called GearUpYourLife Reviews, and it’s going to be worth it — I promise.
You’ll get honest, in-depth reviews every week, and I’m confident you won’t be disappointed with what’s coming next.

Safe travels
 Johannes
