Winter Hit Me in Greece... So Here’s What’s in My Sling Bag.
From gloves and chargers to the tiny tools that make cold-weather days easier, five real EDC items I can’t live without this season.
Hey, Johannes from GearUpYourLife here…
and today’s email is the promised Winter EDC Edition.
I wanted to show you five gadgets I’ve been carrying with me every single day lately because, unfortunately, even here in Greece, winter caught up with me.
I honestly thought I could escape it this year, but nope. 😅
We’re sitting at a still-pretty-nice 10–15°C (that’s around 50–60°F), but the sun doesn’t hit the same anymore and it just feels colder.
So, here are my Winter Everyday Essentials I really can’t live without.
Most of these I’ve never even shown on the channel before — so let’s dive in.
($80) Peak Design Mobile Tripod — ⭐️ 8.1/10
I’ve been using it nonstop the past weeks to film content for the new Review Channel, and honestly, it’s a beast. Premium build, crazy stable for its size, and way better than my old Kenu tripod, even though that one still wins on price. If you shoot anything on the go, this is one of those tools that instantly feels worth it.
($65) Sea to Summit Travel Umbrella — ⭐️ 8/10
Yeah, it’s “just” an umbrella but after breaking about ten cheap ones, I finally invested in this one. Super lightweight, wind-resistant, and honestly built like gear, not a toy. If you’ve ever had your umbrella flip inside out mid-storm, you’ll understand why this feels like a small luxury that actually matters.
($55) The North Face Etip Gloves — ⭐️ 9.5/10
I’ve had these for five years — my mom actually bought them back in the day — and they’re still perfect. Not made for heavy snow, but for mornings in Greece when it’s dark and cold on runs, they’re unbeatable. Thin, touchscreen-friendly, and warm enough for that in-between weather that’s too cold for bare hands but not full winter.
($130) Bellroy Travel Wallet — ⭐️ 7.5/10
One of my absolute favorites. Premium leather, super organized, and somehow still minimal. It fits cash, cards, coins, and even a SIM tool without bulging out. For anyone who carries tech, tickets, and multiple currencies — this is basically a life upgrade disguised as a wallet., but extremely expensive their are great alternatives for real !
($10) Noshinku Hand Sanitizer — ⭐️ 8.2/10
I’ve had this one for over a year now, first saw it on JustBookIt and instantly loved the design. It looks premium, smells great, and it’s refillable — which is rare. I’m not a germ freak, but I always carry one, and this is the only sanitizer that doesn’t look like it belongs in a hospital.
($15) ANKER Kevlar USB-C Cable — ⭐️ 8/10
Cables are one of those boring but essential things. I’ve gone through dozens of cheap ones that broke in a week. This one’s built with Kevlar, charges everything fast, and feels like it’ll last forever. I carry it everywhere and for once, I actually trust a cable not to fail when I need it most.
Hey guys,
